DC FILMS Staff Shake-Up Following JUSTICE LEAGUE Performance

DC FILMS Staff Shake-Up Following JUSTICE LEAGUE Performance

"This is something that Jon approached me about six months ago, and he expressed his goal was to ultimately be a producer at the studio", Warner Bros.

Berg is said to be leaving his DC role to become a production partner at Warner Bros. alongside IT and The Lego Movie producer Roy Lee, according to Variety. The report makes no mention of Johns being DC president, and says Johns still reports to DC president Diane Nelson. No word yet on who will replace Jon Berg at the helm of DC Films, but WB will likely want to name his successor sooner rather than later - particularly with Aquaman on the horizon.

It's noted both Jon Berg and Geoff Johns were intimately involved in the production of Justice League. Flashpoint is also reportedly moving forward, although a director still hasn't been named for the Flash movie.

Wagner is fairly clear about this in an interview with Inverse, responding to a question regarding whether or not scenes were shot involving the black suit with a simple answer: "There were". As a result, Warner Bros.is changing things up at the executive level and considering a few other changes to help get the DCEU on track.

Word is Berg never wanted to oversee the entire division for Warner Bros., and approached the studio about adopting a producer role nearly six months ago.

While "Justice League" is the lowest-grossing DCEU (DC Extended Universe) movie at the US box-office, the same thing can not be said about it in China as it is now officially the highest-grossing DC movie ever released in the said country. Picture Group, said it was Berg's decision to step down.

Regarding the Justice League movie, the studios is reported to be unhappy with the initial dark cut of Zack Snyder's version and are unhappy with how Steppenwolf was received citing the "principal antagonist was faulty" in that "many reviews were particularly harsh about Steppenwolf, criticizing the character for being one-note and the product of unconvincing visual effects".
