John Cena sued by Ford for flipping vehicle

Ford is taking John Cena to court after the WWE Superstar sold a $500,000 Ford GT, TMZ Sports reported Thursday.

Despite buyers often putting down millions of pounds to acquire the latest rare supercar, they're "encouraged" by the makers to keep the vehicle for a "sensible" period of time, and if they don't they probably won't get the chance to buy anything similar again. But by the end of October, the GT had a new owner because Cena flipped it - making a hefty profit - despite the contractual provision preventing him from selling the vehicle for two years. During an episode posted on October 31, Cena gets behind the wheel of a 2017 Ford GT. But it's all gone a bit Pete Tong.

This is an action for breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation, and unjust enrichment arising out of Mr. Cena's improper and unlawful resale of a custom-made, model year 2017 Ford GT sports vehicle, in violation of the Ford GT Application Program and contracts pertaining to same.

In a lawsuit filed recently, Ford Motor Company alleges Cena broke the contract and flipped his few-weeks old GT - which carries an MSRP north of $450,000 - for a large profit. Cena also purchased one of the coolest Ford cars ever made, the new Ford GT.

Ford has sued the West Newbury native in US District Court in Detroit, seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

Ford says the wrestler also made a large profit from the sale, although the price wasn't specified.

John Cena offered his apology to Ford, claiming that he "will cooperate to resolve the situation".

"Ford's lawsuit said Cena's Application Programme appeal included the line, "[If] I were to be deemed fit for ownership I would most certainly use every vehicle of communication to let the world know about the auto, the brand, and the experience". Despite an annual income from wrestling alone of around £6 million.
