LeBron James says Derrick Rose doesn't owe team an apology

After suffering multiple serious knee injuries in recent years, Rose fought his way through 64 games with the New York Knicks last season and entered this season with a lot to prove, signing a team-friendly one-year veteran's minimum deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"This has been a very challenging and hard time for Derrick", Cavs general manager Koby Altman said in a release Monday.

Rose will be at the Cavs' game against the Kings on Wednesday night, and his teammates plan to check in with him individually when the opportunity presents itself in the coming days, according to a team source.

He suffered his first injury this season to his right ankle on October 20, but returned to the team after missing four games.

"He wants to be back, and he wants to play".

It will be interesting to see how Tyronn Lue uses Rose once healthy, the Cavaliers are on a win streak since he went out (which has more to do with LeBron James and defensive effort, not just Rose).

"We will continue to provide him with support and have patience as he rejoins his team-mates and works his way back on to the court". And he's too young. "But just hearing what he had to say and then just seeing how everyone was welcoming him back and was happy he's here".

After exiling himself for two weeks, Rose re-joined the Cavs on Wednesday and, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, explained to his teammates that he was frustrated over his latest injury.

Rose has missed 16 of the Cavs' 23 games this season, including the past 12. "It's impossible to just, you just don't know", James said. "So, we're where we want to be right now". The Chicago Bulls selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 2008 National Basketball Association draft.
