Allen Greene emerges as top choice to replace Jay Jacobs

According to 247Sports, Auburn will hire Buffalo AD Allen Greene, making him only the second African-American AD in SEC history. He served as deputy AD and senior associate AD under Danny White, who left the school to become athletic director at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

The hiring of Greene could be made official later this week.

He will replace current Auburn AD Jay Jacobs, who announced his retirement in November with the intention to hold the job until June 2018 or until the school found a replacement.
