Aly Raisman Delivered a Passionate Victim Impact Statement About Larry Nassar

Legislative leaders are calling for the resignation of Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon as disgraced former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar enters the fourth day of his sentencing hearing after pleading guilty to 10 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

"I will not rest until every last trace of your influence on this sport has been destroyed like the cancer it is", she told Nassar.

The Karolyi Ranch, once famed as a breeding ground of champions, is now tainted by revelations of sexual abuse by former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar. "You took advantage of our passions and our dreams", she said.

Riasman also described how Nassar used his authority to manipulate her and others.

"Kerry, I have never met you, and I know you weren't around for most of this, but you accepted the position of president and CEO of United States of America gymnastics and I assume by now you are very well aware of the weighty responsibility you've taken on", she said. The first assault happened when she was 12, she said.

Nassar told Aquilina that the letter was "cathartic" and was written prior to appearing in court.

MSU reportedly continued to let Nassar see patients during a 16-month police probe into sexual assault allegations against him.

Women's gymnastics coach Kathie Klages resigned last year after she was suspended for defending Nassar for years.

After days of testimony from other athletes, Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman faced her abuser in court Friday.

Lemke said when she went public, she was terrified about the potential consequences and her status on the MSU Gymnastics team, wondering if her scholarship would be taken away.

Just yesterday, NBC News reported that Larry complained to the Judge in a six-page letter, accusing her of turning his sentencing into a "media circus" and claiming she's only giving more than 100 of his accusers a chance to speak "so the media cameras will be directed at her".

Raisman's statements came shortly after her 2012 Olympic teammate Jordyn Wieber publicly revealed for the first time that she also had been abused by Nassar, starting from age 14. "We are here. We have our voices, and we are not going anywhere".

"You are pathetic to think that anyone would have any sympathy for you", she said. Nassar previously was sentenced to 60 years in prison in December on federal child pornography charges. The worst part was that I had NO idea that he was sexually abusing me for his own benefit. He also was a team doctor at Indianapolis-based USA Gymnastics, which trains Olympians.

"Your days of manipulation are over", she said. At another point, Aquilina said she would allow someone "to do to him what he did to others" if the U.S. Constitution allowed cruel punishment.

Responding to Nassar's complaint as part of the hearing, Aquilina acknowledged the disgraced doctor's recollection of almost fainting at his December hearing but otherwise refused to play the sympathy card in the wake of 50-plus statements against Nassar.
