Bill Murray, Fred Armisen Return To The First 'SNL' Episode Of 2018

The identity behind the Grim Reaper playing Steve Bannon on Saturday Night Live has been revealed - and it's Bill Murray! On Saturday night, during an "Morning Joe" segment, Murray came out in a black hood to big cheers from the audience. "Steve Bannon, the Bannon Cannon - magic!" Magic. Magic. The king maker! "The Bannon dynasty is dawning!"

Kate McKinnon's Mika Brzezinski asked Bannon what he's doing now since leaving the White House.

"OK that does sound like me", Murray's Bannon concluded. The show will be called "Cucks In Cars Getting Coffee". "I'm also coming out with a new line of wrinkled barn jackets".

The two were there to discuss the Trump White House in SNL's version of Morning Joe, with Armisen, as Wolff, highlighting some of the more lurid, and questionable portions, of his controversial book.

When asked if everything in his book was true, Armisen's Wolff responded, "You read it, right?"

Murray's Bannon didn't let his moment go by without reminding everyone he was the one who convinced the country to elect Trump, though, and he threatened to "do it again". "Already got prospects. Logan Paul. He's back. He's electable".

But the kicker was a special satellite interview interruption by Leslie Jones as Oprah.

It all started not long after Donald Trump locked up the Republican nomination following his upset win over 16 other candidates in the GOP primary. "I'm a celebrity so I'm qualified", said Jones as Winfrey before adding that there's only one job in the world more powerful than president and that's being Oprah.

Then Murray, Armisen and the rest of the cast opened the show with its traditional catch phrase, "Live".
