Chelsea reach agreement with Roma for Dzeko and Emerson

Edin Dzeko's agent is in London to finalise terms after Chelsea agreed a £50m deal with Roma to buy the striker and team mate Emreson Palmieri, according to the Mirror.

Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch in recent weeks but Dzeko emerged as a serious target late last week and the Blues have been in talks with Roma over the past few days.

Antonio Conte will now have a big choice to make between starting Alvaro Morata or the former Manchester City player. Today could be the day Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri finally join Chelsea.

Kenedy - who had a loan at Watford last season - is also able to play at left-back.

Emerson, meanwhile, is reported to have agreed a contract with Chelsea and will compete with Marcos Alonso for a spot a left-wing-back if he completes a move to Stamford Bridge.

23-year-old Palmieri, who has recently switched his allegiance from Brazil to Italy, is understood to be close to agreeing terms on his move - which will also allow Newcastle to land the loan signing of Kenedy.

The same article states that the Blues are ready to cough up £44m to bring both Dzeko and Palmieri to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

The Roma striker scored a sensational goal in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in their Champions League group stage clash earlier this season.

An insider at Roma told Il Tempo, that Chelsea have already agreed a €60 million (£53m) deal with the Italian side to sign Dzeko and Emerson this month.
