Democrat releases Fusion GPS testimony, revealing possible Federal Bureau of Investigation informant in Trump organization

Feinstein on Tuesday released the full transcript of the committee's interview with Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of the opposition research firm that produced the explosive dossier detailing alleged ties between Trump and Russian Federation.

At the time, BuzzFeed knew the dossier had been compiled by a leading expert on Russian espionage and that key Senate members, including Harry Reid and John McCain acted in response. The California senator-sneakily-suggested to the president that he agree to first doing a clean bill to legalize immigrants protected by the DACA order, and then move onto "comprehensive immigration reform" that would include the president's security concerns. Fusion GPS, being hired by Hillary Clinton's campaign arms in the Democratic Party and a law firm, had commissioned ex-MI6 agent Christopher Steele to collect opposition intelligence on President Donald Trump during the campaign season. Its interest to the public is obvious. But a spokesman for Fusion GPS applauded Feinstein "for her courage". In fact, Steele was so shocked by what he learned from his sources that he felt obliged to report it to the FBI, Simpson says.

The owners of Fusion GPS, the research firm behind the dossier, that slammed the Republican reaction to their congressional testimony.

The United States intelligence community believes that the Russian government was engaged in electoral interference during the 2016 USA presidential election.

If not for Steele's file, the GOP reasoning goes, the FBI would never have started down the path of investigating Trump, which would never have led to FBI Director James Comey approaching Trump about the file; absent this, Comey would never have been fired, there would be no Mueller probe, and all would be right with the world. On his tweet praising Kushner, Trump joked that the next one facing scrutiny over ties to Russian Federation would be his youngest son, Barron Trump.

"According to Source D, where s/he had been present, TRUMP's (perverted) conduct in Moscow included hiring the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where he knew President and Mrs OBAMA (whom he hated) had stayed on one of their official trips to Russian Federation, and defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostitutes to perform a "golden showers" (urination) show in front of him". "Why waste time talking about something that's not legitimate", he said.

Cohen has testified before the House and Senate Committees over his alleged involvement in collusion, but did not say whether Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team interviewed him.

McCain then passed the controversial document to James Comey, then director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation which followed by using the dossier in the probe of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Trump, the Republicans, and Trump's inner circle have been hard at work to discredit the dossier as politically motivated and too much a linchpin of the FBI investigation.
