Due To Injury, Paige's WWE In-Ring Career Is Over

Paige reportedly "was informed this week that she will not be cleared to return to the ring after her most recent in-ring injury", sources told the site. It's also a similar injury the one that forced Hall of Famer Edge into early retirement back in 2011.

The reason for Paige being examined dates back to a house show on December 28, 2017 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island where Absolution took on Bayley, Mickie James, and Sasha Banks in a 6-woman tag team match.

She said: "It's incredible, I obviously want to go down in history as someone who managed to change the division". She was brought back with great fanfare during a great Raw segment previous year, helping to introduce NXT talents Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to the main roster as part of the Absolution faction.

The match was stopped soon after the kick, and Paige was able to walk to the back, but it appears the injury may be a potential career ender.

Paige-real name Saraya-Jade Bevis-is only 25 and WWE apparently sees potential for her outside the ring.

The Anti-Diva recently announced her entry into the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble at the January 28 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but her status likely means WWE will be forced to find a replacement.

Paige won that title on two occasions, and was also the first NXT Women's champion.

Paige, the first NXT Women's champion, was moved to the main roster as a surprise the day after Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans, shockingly defeating AJ Lee to become the WWE Divas champion.

Paige has had an extremely turbulent year as she was suspended in August 2016 after failing the company's wellness policy.

WWE have yet to release an official statement.

Paige has never been far from the headlines throughout her career and the last 12 months have been a turbulent time for the British born star.
