Fox News' chief DC reporter left after harassment claims

The report, based on interviews with eight of Rosen's former colleagues at Fox News' Washington bureau, said that "he had an established pattern of flirting aggressively with many peers and had made sexual advances toward three female Fox News journalists, including two reporters and a producer". In a shared cab ride back from a meal, Rosen groped her, grabbing her breast. According to NPR, it is likely that his departure is a effect of alleged scrutiny he was facing at work-specifically sexual harassment allegations. He was also accused of trying to kiss a younger woman reporter in an elevator after she rebuffed him, according to the report.

Rosen left Fox News just days after 21st Century Fox mogul Rupert Murdoch brushed aside questions about sexual harassment claims at the network. He then allegedly offered her help in getting more air time on Bret Baier's nightly newscast in exchange for keeping silent.

Rosen is the latest in a string of high-profile men in the news media to be accused of "inappropriate behavior", including several at Fox.

Fox News's powerful chief and mastermind Roger Ailes was ousted from the network after host Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual-harassment lawsuit against Ailes in July 2016.

Former host Eric Bolling was suspended in August, and in September parted ways with Fox News amid allegations that he sent sexually explicit pictures to coworkers. Ailes, O'Reilly and Bolling denied the claims.

Rosen, 49, has been with Fox News since 1999, 3 years after the channel launched.

Rosen's Facebook page features photos of his family alongside promotions for his book projects.

Several others told NPR Rosen sexually harassed a foreign national producer covering the State Department, who accepted a deal from Fox News not to say anything in exchange for being allowed to work longer in the United States, and tried to forcibly kiss a young reporter twice a year ago. Fox News did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment. Rosen also declined to comment to NPR. The paper said he was the first reporter to be disciplined for misconduct.

Mr. Achenbach acknowledged in a statement that he had "said and done things that were unprofessional".
