India Beat Pakistan By 7 Wickets In Thrilling Contest

The world cup is being played in Pakistan and India but the match between two arch-rival teams moved to a neutral location after Indian government refused to send its team to Pakistan. Mohammed Jail scored 94 runs off 91 balls as Pakistan scored a competitive total of 282/8 in 40 Overs.

In reply, India scored their runs in 35 overs. For the Men in Green, the top scorer of the inning was Md Jail who added 90 runs at a healthy strike rate of nearly a run a ball.

On television, the reach of the ICC U19 CWC will be spread across five continents as ICC will continue its long-term partnerships with various broadcast partners including Star Sports (India and the rest of the Indian Sub-continent), Sky Sports (United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland), SuperSport (South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa), OSN (Middle East & North Africa). India captain Ajay Reddy scored nine runs and Prakash Jayaramiah scored 76.

Deepak Malik was adjudged Man of the Match.

Thanks to the victory, India are placed on the top of the points table, followed by Pakistan and Sri Lanka in their group.

Despite the tournament being officially hosted in Pakistan, India's refusal to travel to the country means that their matches are being hosted in the UAE. Apart from India, who won in 2000, 2008 and 2012, Australia have won the tournament thrice.

In other matches on the opening day to be played here, Bangladesh take on Namibia and Papua New Guinea play Zimbabwe. After 1988 they didn't hold the tournament for 10 years, so I've no exposure of playing and being part of this tournament.
