Inter keen on signing Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge on loan

Liverpool have rejected an offer from Sevilla to take Daniel Sturridge on loan for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool want guaranteed income from the striker's departure from the club and it has been claimed that the Reds are now considering loaning him out only if there is an obligatory purchase option included in the agreement.

Inter are not the only continental club chasing the England worldwide as it is understood Sevilla are also considering signing the striker from Liverpool in the winter window. With the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer, a move overseas may give him the chance to prove himself and be selected for the England squad.

Under manager Jurgen Klopp, he is now no more than a back-up at Anfield, with Roberto Firmino the undisputed first-choice No. 9.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City player moved to Anfield in 2013 and has since gone on to score 63 goals in 133 appearances for the Reds.

Inter Milan have also made contact with Liverpool about a possible loan and are admirers of Sturridge, but they are in the same position as Sevilla and have not been able to strike a deal.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to let Sturridge leave on loan if they receive a fee, but they would prefer a permanent deal this month, and feel that, despite his fitness and injury issues in recent seasons, he's worth £30m in the current transfer market. He's too talented to sit on Liverpool's bench, and it's probably the right time for him to make a move away from the club.
