Isaiah Thomas Denies Calling Out Kevin Love in Heated Team Meeting

Since Isaiah Thomas' return from injury, the Cleveland Cavaliers have lost seven games out of 11, but that doesn't mean he feels responsible for his team's recent struggles.

Thomas said the various reports detailing Monday's team meeting as having been instigated in part by him criticizing Love for missing most of Cleveland's 148-124 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder with an illness, and then exiting the arena early and missing practice the following day, were inaccurate.

In the press conference, Thomas said that an undue amount of blame is passed onto him and he doesn't deserve it. Thomas finished hitting only 38.5-percent, with a 5-for-13 shooting night. Thomas was also booed in the fourth quarter for taking bad shots and committing a turnover.

A one game sampling of surly Kevin Love and a few of his teammates ignoring him isn't indicative of any long-term issues, but it only adds to the sentiment that the Cavs have the team chemistry of a VH1 reality show reunion special.

A team source suggested to ESPN that it was a clear sign of Love trying to embarrass Thomas in the aftermath of the meeting.

"I mean if they anxious about my shot selection they must not have seen me play the last few years", said Thomas.

Love and Green joked about the moment after the game, with Green faking outrage to the media and Love responding by saying "I don't like you, Jeff". To not shoot? To not find my rhythm? "I can't be anybody else", he said. "I'm the guy in the pickup game during the summer where it's like, 'OK, he's a big guy that can shoot, yeah I guess I'll take him'".

So when he was asked Friday where he believes his teammate selected him in the draft, Love went the comedic self-deprecation route. So I was seeing where he was. So I didn't call him out any. Thomas said he has known Love since fifth and sixth grade and there is no bad blood with the Cleveland Cavaliers. I approached him about a situation, and it went out of house, like it shouldn't have been.

"So the rebound, I don't (know)". "But being on this team, you see anything that happens, it's a little blown up and it's a little more than what it really is. OK then", Thomas said.
