Jaguars vs. Patriots: Coverage from around the country

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady might be listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but his biggest fan Matt Damon isn't anxious.

The Pats and Jags clash Sunday in Foxboro in the AFC championship game, with a berth in Super Bowl LII on the line (3:05 p.m. EST, CTV/CBS).

Tom Brady recently suffered an injury that required him to get stitches in his right hand. He sat out practice Thursday, but wore a glove on his injured hand during the stretching period open to reporters.

That report's only further illumination: the 40-year-old participated on a limited basis in practice.

I have to say, getting a Super Bowl tattoo before your team is actually in the Super Bowl seems kind of insane, especially when your team has to beat the Patriots just to get to the Super Bowl. Head coach Bill Belichick has played so many mind games throughout the years.

Brian Hoyer is the Patriots back-up quarterback, and would start in AFC Championship if Brady is unable to play. "The one thing I've learned is that they can beat you in so many ways", says Marrone, whom Belichick reportedly recommended for the Jaguars job. And you wonder if Marrone is bothered by hearing so much about Coughlin's impact on the team Marrone actually coaches.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe confirmed the report and added that "Brady is not certain" to practise Thursday.

It's also a necessity for Bortles to play well, because the Patriots' defense is going to do everything possible to slow down rookie running back Leonard Fournette.

The Jaguars will be looking to go to their first Super Bowl, while New England will be looking to defend their title.

They have the best defense in football and are solid at every level. When I first got here it was, 'Did you meet Tom? Many of them said the column is just another reason to hope the Jaguars are able to win Sunday and make Shaughnessy have to eat a little crow in his postgame column.

Top pick Leonard Fournette and second-rounder Cam Robinson, both college stars from National Football League factories, reinforced the team's new identity as a tough, physical group that expects to win every game.

One of two conference title-game participants that won four games the year before actually reached the Super Bowl - and won it: the 1998 St. Louis Rams won Super Bowl XXXIII with previous unknown Kurt Warner at quarterback.

"I have played in a lot of games with pain", he said.

Unfazed by the naysayers, Bortles said that he and his teammates recognize that the turnaround by the Jaguars has a significance greater to northern Florida than simply the win-loss record. "We've got to prepare and improve each day".

"We don't really talk about home-field advantage", added wide receiver Chris Hogan. However, the fact that there isn't any more information about it could lend to the belief that Brady is covering up something more significant than what is known.

Question: Tom, how's your hand? . He was not spectacular in the game, but came up with some huge plays in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
