Lenovo introduces its new Smart Display powered by Google Assistant

The company announced the partnership at Consumer Electronic Show (CES), happening in Las Vegas. While the intention for attaching a screen to an Echo might have been for the goal of something else entirely, Google thinks they can do one better than Amazon did, with their own Smart Displays running Google Assistant.

On the show floor, it smoothly scrolled through demo applications popping up info in ways we're used to seeing on our phones or through Android Auto.

Google does aim targeting Amazon's Alexa with this device. In the smart home of the future, you'll be able to interact with your appliances and devices using only your voice.

Either way, TiVo does promise that a proper Google Assistant integration will roll out in the next few months so we'll keep our eyes on it and let you know when it's available. This was evident not only in whole-home controls but in the vast number of smart doorlocks/doorbells, thermostats, and camera/surveillance systems on display. The smart display will play music, display calendar, weather and Google Maps, among other things. The only difference between the 8-inch and 10-inch version is the resolution, as the former supports high-definition (HD) while the latter is capable of Full HD. The Google Assistant skill is reportedly more robust, allowing users to search for specific recordings directly through voice commands. The revamped store, slated for a February 2018 release, is going to sell Google's own Home line of devices, as well as other devices powered by Assistant. Google is looking to nab more of that real estate as well. The new Lenovo's smart display uses the company's IoT platform.

So folks, that's what all about the new Smart Display from Lenovo powered by Google Assistant.

Of course, this isn't the first assistant that DISH has integrated for its customers. For more updates, stay tuned with us! Regarding the device specifications LG hasn't spoken a lot.
