Leonardo DiCaprio to Join Family of Tarantino's Manson Movie

The 43-year-old actor is set to reunite with the director following 2012's Django Unchained, being DiCaprio's first film since bagging the Oscar for The Revenant. Precisely what this film is about remains a mystery, as Tarantino has confusingly said that it's not actually about the Manson murders, despite Manson victim Sharon Tate reportedly playing a central role in the narrative (and the film releasing on August 9th, the date she was killed).

Previous reports suggested Tarantino was eyeing Margot Robbie, who co-starred with DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street, to play Sharon Tate.

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are also said to be in talks for two major roles in the film while a part has also been written for Al Pacino, who is yet to sign on.

'Because he's got his own unique, specific style, and when you see a Quentin Tarantino movie, you know it'. It was widely reported that Tarantino had initially wanted DiCaprio to play Col. Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds.

Sources also have compared the film to Tarantino's Pulp Fiction while noting it will have a budget in the range of Django Unchained, which had a $100-million budget but grossed over $425 million at the global box office. The film set off a bidding war after Tarantino parted ways with long-time producers The Weinstein Company following the sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein, with several studios clammoring to get their hands on Tarantino's script. Warner Bros.

Sony declined to comment on the story. Cruise, Robbie, and DiCaprio aren't the only big names linked to Tarantino's new film, either. So it is with news Friday afternoon that DiCaprio has officially committed to star in Tarantino's next film, which has been set-up at Sony Pictures with a 2019 release date already scheduled.
