Meet President Trump's new doctor: White House physician Admiral Ronny Jackson

The test did not assess his psychiatric fitness and his doctor said he didn't undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

That's what happens when you nearly start a nuclear war, cause a spike in hate crime and threaten women's reproductive rights...

Mishori said Trump's vital signs, blood tests and physical examinations suggest "he seems to be on track, what you would want to see in a 71-year-old overweight male".

"The president is mentally very sharp, very intact..."

"We talked about diet and exercise a lot", Dr. Jackson said during the briefing. "I think it's going to go very well".

"I find no reason whatsoever to think the president has any issues whatsoever with his thought process", Jackson said.

And it turns out the slurred speech is all down to a very simple explanation: dry mouth.

Ahead of the exam, the White House said that tests for mental acuity would not be included.

Earlier this week, White House physician Dr Ronny Jackson confirmed that Trump is in excellent health but needed to lose weight, eat a better diet, and partake in more regular exercise.

Trump scored 30 out of 30 on the test, Jackson said.

Dr Ronny Jackson, who told a White House press conference he didn't believe the president needed a cognitive test, said Trump's ideal score indicated that "The president is mentally very sharp, very intact".

The memo noted that it was the fourth exam that Jackson had performed on Obama and included details like his age, weight, height, body mass index, resting heart rate, a heart exam, gastrointestinal status and cholesterol rate.

Dr Harold Bornstein, who had looked after Mr Trump's health since 1980, wrote: "If elected, Mr Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency".

Donald Trump's doctor has announced that the USA president received a ideal 30 out of 30 score on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a tool that screens patients for mental conditions including Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment.

At the president's request, Jackson said that he reviewed a number of cognitive tests and then administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment during Trump's first presidential physical exam on Friday afternoon at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Asked how Trump could stay healthy on a diet that includes McDonald's and Diet Cokes, Jackson said: "It's called genetics - I don't know". As the President's physician, Jackson travels with Trump on almost all of his trips and works in close proximity to Trump on a daily basis.

He said despite the president's love of fast food and lack of exercise he was in good health, and that he has "incredible genes".

Jackson accused doctors who have tried to diagnose Trump from afar of performing "tabloid psychiatry". "Those four factors alone put him at a higher risk for cardiovascular disease", she said.
