NFL Talk: Wild Card Recap and Divisional Playoffs

The Jaguars have a young, hungry, and extremely talented defense, but their offense is terrible. The key will be the play of Marcus Mariota. While this game may look one-sided on paper, the Titans clearly are playing with heart and passion right now.

This could be one of the games of the season.

Now comes the ultimate test for Mariota and the Titans: Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the Patriots.

This Divisional round matchup intrigues me the most. I think they limit the Vikings offense and the Saints go into Minnesota and pull off the upset. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennesse Titans, Atlanta Falcons, and New Orleans Saints all lived to fight another day. They play tough, they have talent, and I'd argue that quarterback Matt Ryan is having a better season than he did in 2016.

Something's gotta give, and if it's any indication DVOA's #1 defense has only been an underdog of a touchdown or more twice in this decade.

The Jaguars blew out the Steelers, 30-9, in Week Five when Ben Roethlisberger was picked off five times. And for good measure, the low total of 41 increases the relative value of each point.

Graves' 11-5-1 mark on the season certainly would have been good enough to earn a playoff spot - so he is back, as are some of his fiercest competitors from the year, to take on the Super Bowl Challenge. Because that's how the Patriots win (or lose) Super Bowls: by the hairs of the chinny-chin-chins. Then, in an effort to salvage some momentum going into the playoffs, he played in Week 17 against an already eliminated Cowboys team that promptly shut the Eagles out and limited Foles to a stat line of 4-11 for 39 yards and an interception. And with this being a best bet, there's more to it than that. Philadelphia did have the NFL's fourth-ranked defense and may need a defensive score to keep pace with the Atlanta Falcons, who have won four of their last five. Sarkisian vs. Rams DC Wade Phillips never came to fruition last week after two special teams turnovers gave the Falcons a favorable game script from the get-go, but in a late-and-close situation in Philadelphia, Schwartz would have a clear-cut upper hand based on the coaches' track records. That will mean more points as they throw on early downs.

As has been the case with Steelers teams over the last few seasons, this team goes as the offense goes.

While it remains to be seen whether Sarkisian will have to match wits with a strong defensive mind in crunch time, we do know fatigue vs. freshness strongly favors Philadelphia.

What are the odds ... the Eagles win a playoff game without Carson Wentz? Lines this week come courtesy of ESPN.

Charles: I have absolutely ZERO faith in Blake Bortles, particularly after last week. And no, Foles hasn't inspired any confidence since replacing Carson Wentz as the starter in Week 15.

I feel bad for the Eagles fan base. Here is a look at the schedule for games during the Wild Card weekend of the 2017 National Football League season and where you can catch the action at home. They beat the Rams by 13, covering the spread by nearly 20 points in the process, so what's the harm in upgrading them and making this line Falcons -3? Philadelphia was the Super Bowl favorite at one point before that injury. With Nick Foles, they are getting points.

Antonio Brown looks poised to play this weekend, giving Pittsburgh its most lethal offensive weapon for this playoff clash.

This brings the theme of the week full circle.
