Pistons make Avery Bradley available in trade

The 2018 National Basketball Association trade deadline could be an uneventful one with few star players being mentioned in the latest trade rumors. They aim to get better with a pre-deadline trade in order to fix their now slumping form. He has missed time with groin and hamstring injuries, and he didn't play in Sunday's 121-104 loss to the Cavs. Bradley, an elite defender and one of the best two-way guards in the National Basketball Association, is set to become a free agent this summer.

This season in Detroit, the veteran swingman is averaging 15.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 38 percent from three. Wojnarowski describes the Pistons' asking price for Bradley as "significant" suggesting they won't be in total sell mode at the February 8 trade deadline.

The Pistons acquired Bradley over the summer, in a trade from the Boston Celtics as they attempted to make room for Gordon Hayward on their roster. Now, the Pistons are searching for a return on Bradley prior to the possibility of losing him without compensation in free agency, league sources said.

Bradley, 27, now makes $8 million per year, but could rake in almost three times that amount on the open market this summer.

The Pistons looked like a playoff team earlier this season, but they've struggled mightily since losing point guard Reggie Jackson to an ankle injury.

Head coach Stan Van Gundy of the Detroit Pistons talks to Avery Bradley #22 during action against the Indiana Pacers at Little Caesars Arena on November 9, 2017 in Detroit. Wojnarowski noted Bradley could command a big salary next year, but he might run into a dry free-agent market - there won't be many buyers with money to throw around next season, especially for a slightly undersized shooting guard whose on/off defensive numbers have been disappointing given his reputation for a few years now.
