Police Arrest Suspect In Northeast Colorado Springs Incident

A daylong manhunt for a domestic violence suspect who had been on the run since allegedly exchanging gunfire with officers Friday ended with his capture Saturday afternoon after police were tipped off to where he was hiding.

Police were serving an outstanding warrant and were fired upon by the subject, it has been reported.

Officers responded to the 5600 block of N. Union Boulevard at around 3:40 p.m.to investigate a disturbance involving a gun.

Neal Joseph Arceneaux, 31, is wanted on numerous felony warrants and should be considered armed and unsafe.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking people to stay away from the area near Vickers and Union, and has a perimeter setup at Downhill, Tuckerman, Vickers and Union.

Police also set up a large perimeter around the area and described what was happening as a "critical incident".

The suspect is reportedly a white male, in his 30s, around six feet tall. "CSPD will send out another ENS message when the situation has been handled". Residents were asked to stay inside and away from windows. A reverse-911 message has been issued to all affect citizens in the area.
