Praise the Sun: Dark Souls Remastered Has Been Announced

After rumors about a Dark Souls remaster for the Nintendo Switch spread around the internet yesterday, Nintendo officially announced Dark Souls Remastered for release on May 25, 2018. Dark Souls' unique multiplayer allows for assistance, betrayal, and all the player interactions in between.

"DARK SOULS: REMASTERED delivers the same great gameplay, online mechanics, and environmental storytelling that has inspired countless game players and developers", said Kasumi Yogi, Associate Brand Manager for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. Sure, Dark Souls III is the "big closure" to the series, but Miyazaki never ruled out FromSoft revisiting earlier games in the series since remastering games is all the rage these days.

Nintendo posted a Direct presentation today, in which it teases the remake of Dark Souls Remastered in the final segment with a short, but dramatic trailer.

For those on PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X, Dark Souls Remastered will feature 4K upscaling to give players a much higher resolution image. The game's world is so memorable, and its action so thrilling, that it might invade your thoughts even when you aren't playing, silently urging you to escape the real world and return to this far more treacherous one. It will cost $39.99 on consoles while the price for the PC version is yet to be confirmed. Do you want to mercilessly slash away at your enemies, or devastate them with powerful spells?

Dark Souls Remastered will release for Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 25th. I say: "Why not both?" The marks the debut of the franchise on a Nintendo console and players can prepare to die on May 25. Are you new the Dark Souls series?
