Samsung Introduces Foldable Smartphones Privately at CES 2018

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S8 a year ago at an Unpacked Event in March in NY and starting selling the device in April. The 2017 flagship, the Galaxy S8, was only available with 64GB storage, so an extra option with double the storage is good for the consumer.

An alleged retail box of the Galaxy S9 has found its way to Reddit - ahead of launch - giving away nearly the entire spec-sheet of Samsung's next flagship phone.

It is confirmed that Samsung Display announced its goal which is to mass-produce foldable panels at the end of this year. Well, as there are two apertures mentioned, it seems the camera will be able to switch between apertures depending on the lighting conditions, something similar to what we have seen on Samsung's W2018 flip-phone. Rumors have it that the smartphone will come with bezel-less Infinity display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

A user on Reddit has shared an image of retail box (pictured below) of the Samsung Galaxy S9 which reveals some specifications of this upcoming Samsung flagship. The bigger one is also expected to get a dual camera.

If true, it appears the S9 will feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display which will keep Samsung's trademark curved design.

The box also reveals the Galaxy S9 will have stereo speakers tuned by AKG and will ship with headphones tuned by the audio company too. The post goes on claim that there will even be a 512GB variant of the Galaxy S9+, which will likely be available in limited quantities and in select countries only.

New processor, improved photography and an updated position for the fingerprint scanner are all rumoured along with the inclusion of a dual-lens rear snapper on the larger S9+ model. These speakers will be tuned by AKG like the bundled earphones.
