Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Gets 32v32 Battles thanks to a Mod

Some intrepid team at Disney squirreled away far from the reach of daylight has released a new update for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (note the colon).

In October 2017, GOG announced that online functionality had been restored to Star Wars Battlefront 2, something that was previously done by fans via workarounds. We'd be surprised if that happened given how troublesome Battlefront 2's first few months have been, but it's not out of the question.

Pandemic's Star Wars Battlefront II was originally released back in 2005 and was a massive hit with gamers for delivering an intense Star Wars game that also allows you to wage war across the galaxy with your friends.

EA's shares have taken a deep blow following Battlefront II's social media outrage, but Pachter suggests that initial expectations for FY2019 might be too conservative given the publisher's game lineup, which includes titles such as Anthem and the next Battlefield. Darth Vader in white probably doesn't make sense, versus in black.

What's more confusing is that EA did not go with this feature since the beginning, even though the game supports 64 players at the same time.

The chances of us ever seeing an old school Star Wars space sim again are distressingly low, but at least we have this opportunity to sit back and dream of what might have been. Not to mention you probably don't want Darth Vader in pink.

Meanwhile, DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II's latest DLC added two new maps and new hero characters, and a myriad of other things.

Star Wars: Battlefront II is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. However, it's nice to see Disney and Lucasfilms are doing what they can to maintain classic Star Wars games like Battlefront 2.
