Theo Walcott completes Everton switch as £20m deal confirmed

He has scored 108 goals in 397 appearances for Arsenal but has fallen out of favour with boss Arsene Wenger.

"There's something about this move which I've just felt good about", Walcott told the Everton website Wednesday.

Walcott explained why he chose Everton over the other offers, saying, "The manager is very hungry and it's just what I need".

The Everton attack is really starting to take shape with the welcome return of Yannick Bolasie, coupled with the recent additions of both Tosun and Walcott.

That summer the hype was at an all-time high as Sven-Göran Eriksson selected the 16-year-old in his World Cup squad.

The Chilean worldwide is out of contract at the end of the season and was also a target for Manchester City, but United appear to have stolen a march over their local rivals.

"We already have very talented players in our team and I'm sure if we sign him he would have a great input". "I've had a couple of chats with him, and straightaway I felt that hunger and that desire that he wanted from me".

"I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved @Arsenal - manager, coaches, backroom staff, and all the many people at the club that have been part of my family for the past 12 years. That's what I want to bring into this team: the goals, the assists".

The 28-year-old's £20million move from Arsenal was officially announced at 5pm after he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract worth over £110,000 a week.

"He told me it was a great place to play football and a club that is on the up".

The England global failed to make a single Premier League start under Arsene Wenger this season in a campaign which will determine whether or not he will be included in Gareth Southgate's squad for the World Cup in Russian Federation.

"The age I am at, I feel I can adapt to any situation", Walcott said.

The Englishman spent 12 years at the Emirates but arguably failed to live up to the huge hype that surrounded him at the time of his move from Southampton.
