Wales in for Giggs

Wales in for Giggs

Chris Coleman has taken a swipe at Mark Bowen as his former team-mate attempts to succeed him as Wales manager.

Ryan Giggs' lengthy wait for a job in the chaotic world of football management could finally be over after it was revealed that the rookie boss was interviewed for the Wales vacancy.

"Bowen should do well, as I remember when I was the manager and he was talking on TV he had all the answers after the game", Coleman said sarcastically.

Manchester United legend and Welshman Ryan Giggs has reportedly been interviewed for his country's job, possibly starting his career in management on the worldwide stage.

"Individuals have not performed to the level they should be, and as a group I think we've been - and I might get criticised for saying this - mentally weak at times as in the performances have been very disappointing".

He's since been linked with a plethora of posts - too many to name - from the Premier League down to League Two, however he could now make his managerial debut in the global arena.

The Football Association of Wales hopes to announce its new manager in the next week, before the UEFA Nations League draw takes place in Switzerland on January 24.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has formally completed his interview for the vacant Wales job as the 44-year-old looks to step into a senior manager role for the first time in his career.

It is understood that Bowen, who was working as Mark Hughes' assistant manager at Stoke until last Saturday, is the final candidate.

The 54-year-old from Neath has been Hughes' assistant at various Premier League clubs and with Wales.
