What Tommy Wiseau Wanted to Say on Stage — Golden Globes

Franco, 39, played Wiseau in 2017's The Disaster Artist, which charts the tumultuous production of the latter's 2003 film, The Room.

In the wake of multiple sexual harassment or assault scandals in Hollywood, Franco came on the radar after a short while industry spoke out against sexual misconduct at the 2018 Golden Globes Award ceremony.

"James Franco only prevented Tommy Wiseau from speaking at the Golden Globes out of fear of for how powerful his message would have been", blasted another. "Ok wait. Bye. Christian Slater and James Franco at a table on @goldenglobes #MeToo", Ally tweeted.

If James Franco had let him. "Please never ever ask me why I left the film/tv business", she fumed.

It seems the Francos and Rogan are a part of that following, as they made a decision to create the Disaster Artist (with is an adaption of a tell all novel by one of the actors who was a part of the original film disaster). One of those people was Ally Sheedy, who tweeted from an unverified account. So Wiseau's right. The world is his oyster at the moment, after years of him being a laughingstock-turned-cult-hero.

Instead, Franco referenced something Wiseau said before setting out to make The Room, a movie that's so bad it's incredible.

The Breakfast Club actress made it clear she was not on board with Franco's attendance to the Golden Globes or his award.

At the Globes the vast majority those attending - men and women - wore black or Time's Up badges to show their support for the movement.
