YouTube hasn't shut the door on working with Logan Paul

For those unfamiliar with the whole debacle, the YouTuber posted a video on December 31, showing a suicide victim in Japan's Aokigahara Forest, commonly referred to as "Suicide Forest".

After punishing one of its fastest-growing creators this week, Google is reportedly planning on scrutinizing YouTube videos that are part of its most lucrative advertising program. Daniels announced changes to those guidelines in December to the company that will further protect the YouTube creative community and the service's relationships with advertisers who don't want to be tied to videos like Paul's "misstep". Paul saw the suicide victim hanging from a tree and filmed it up close, posting the video on YouTube.

Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) owns the most valuable user-generated streaming video platform on earth, but being the parent company of YouTube certainly doesn't come without its downside.

The Logan Paul situation was not the first time YouTube original content has been affected by the problematic influencers at its center.

YouTube assured its audience that in addition to dishing out consequences for Logan, it will also be taking steps to prevent something like this from happening again.

He posted an apology following criticism of the controversial video, saying he "should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through".

As expected, YouTube took action to penalize Logan Paul for the gruesome suicide video.

"In light of recent events, we have made a decision to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred", a YouTube spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter in an email statement.

"In light of recent events, we have chose to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred", reads the full statement from a YouTube spokeswoman, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

YouTube has declined to offer additional comments besides the official statement. "Additionally, we will not feature Logan in season 4 of "Foursome" and his new Originals are on hold," Alphabet Inc's YouTube, said in a statement.
