CNN Analyst Breaks Down While Reporting On The Florida Shooting Coverage

A former Central Intelligence Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation analyst has broken down in tears on CNN while discussing the Florida school shooting that left at least 17 people dead and several injured.

"I talked to a terrorist who nearly died because he wanted to blow up a weapon, a vehicle bomb, and he was sent to blow it up by ISIS and al-Qaeda", Mudd said.

Mudd then appeared to criticize the lack of gun legislation, a legislative hurdle that continues to divide many congressional leaders on party lines. "We're talking about bump stocks; we're talking about legislation".

"A child of God is dead", said the former Federal Bureau of Investigation agent, speaking on "The Situation Room" with anchor Wolf Blitzer. Mudd continued as he lost his composure.

"Cannot we acknowledge in this country", Mudd said as his voice cracked, "that we... we can not accept this".

"I can't do it, Wolf", Mudd said. I'm sorry. I can't do it'.

Blitzer cut to another guest after telling Mr Mudd he would come back to him.

"You're obviously ― this is so emotional, unfortunately it happens all too often", Blitzer said.

As per local media reports, the incident at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, northwest of Fort Lauderdale, was carried out by 19-year-old Nikolaus Cruz, who has been taken to custody for further investogation. "And people say we've got to learn some and, as a result people say we've got to learn some lessons".
