In a freakish and shocking news, a poacher has been reportedly killed and devoured by lions in a private game reserve in South Africa.

The suspected big cat poacher was was savaged and eaten alive by a pride of lions he was trying to hunt has been positively identified.

According to local reports, lion poaching has been on the rise in area in recent years. Their heads and paws had been sawn off. Poachers have also targeted rhinoceroses in the area due to the heavy demand for their horns in China, Vietnam and other Asian countries, where it is believed to have medicinal qualities.

The incident took place last week when three suspected illegal poachers were attacked by lions which resulted in the death of the suspect and two of his accomplices survived unharmed. In January, trophy hunter Pero Jelinic, 75, died after being struck by a stray bullet while hunting lions on a remote farm that practices "canned" lion hunting.

One said: "The head was still there but the lions had eaten most of the rest". It is also worth mentioning here that previous year same place a man was killed by several white lions when he tried escaping the enclosure.
