Nelly sexual assault accusations under investigation by Essex Police

The St Louis, Missouri, native allegedly sexually assaulted a fan on 5 December after she asked him for a photo following his performance at Cliffs Pavilion, in Westcliff-on-Sea.

The alleged victim claimed that after she asked to take a picture with the rapper, he snaked his arm around her really tightly and asked her to stay behind and talk with him for a while.

She also claims Nelly tried to prevent her from opening the door and leaving the room, but was able to escape when security came to check on them. The woman says she did not report the alleged incident to police right away, because she didn't think anyone would believe her, as reported by TMZ.

The investigation comes just months after the rapper, known chiefly for songs like Dilemma and Hot in Herre, was arrested in Washington state after being accused of rape by a 22-year-old student at the University of Washington named Monique Green.

In response, his lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, has issued a statement which reads: "Nelly welcomes a thorough investigation".

"Nelly is confident that once investigated, these claims will be determined to be disingenuous".

English authorities have launched a sexual assault investigation against Nelly.

Rosenblum also said the rapper was accompanied by his girlfriend at the time the alleged incident occurred, adding, "It is important that police investigate every allegation of this nature". It contains no criminal charges, but asks the judge to prevent Nelly - whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr. Essex police have reportedly opened an investigation into her claims.

Another woman has accused Nelly of sexual assault. She says that Nelly abruptly grabbed her leg and shoved his hand up her dress without her consent.

Essex police are now investigating the allegations. He strongly denied her story.

Jane said she spent about two hours with Nelly, and "had a very nice time" until, while sitting near her at a desk, he said, "let me see it". She then left the room while he called her a c*nt.
