NFL Player Jonathan Martin Reportedly Detained Over Gun Pic

The social media post in question was a photo of a shotgun laid out on what appears to be a bed with the caption, "When you're a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge". The image showed a shotgun, ammunition and tagged four accounts, including those belonging to former Miami teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey.

On Friday, per the Los Angeles Times , Harvard-Westlake was closed due to a "security risk". Los Angeles police spokesperson Tony Kway told USA TODAY Sports that officers from the department's North Hollywood division responded to the school "after an Instagram post by a former student who is now an adult".

Jonathan Martin was subjected to extensive bullying during his time with the Miami Dolphins.

He attended Harvard-Westlake before playing football at Stanford.

Extra patrols will be in place around the Harvard-Westlake campuses Friday, Kuey said.

After playing in the National Football League for three seasons and then retiring in the summer of 2015, it appears Jonathan Martin's story might be forgotten. After Friday's events, that is not going to be the case.

Martin has been taken into police custody, according to multiple reports. We are working closely with law enforcement and will share more information when we are able.

The post and arrests come over a week after 17 people were killed after a gunman opened fire at Parkland's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Martin was the target of bullying in the Dolphins locker room from 2012-13, largely perpetuated by Incognito and Pouncey. After a brief stint with the Carolina Panthers, he has not played in the National Football League since.

"You learn to tone down your size & blackness by becoming shy, introverted, friendly, so you won't scare the little rich white kids or their parents", he wrote on social media in 2015. "It takes away your self-confidence, your self-worth, your sanity".
