Weather Authority: Mild and sunny Valentine's Day

As of now, I'm keeping the highs in the lower to mid 70s. We'll have breezy northeast winds.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures continue, with an overnight low temperature of 27 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with highs in the upper 30s. We are expected scattered showers for the end of the work week, but long range models are hinting at a cool weekend.

It will be cold Friday night with temperatures falling into the teens and low 20s by Saturday morning with a pesky breeze. Another potent cold front arrives Thursday evening. Overnight temperatures will be very mild, not dropping out of the 50s. A few rumbles of thunder are possible too.

The front will slide back down Friday bringing in some good rain for the morning commute.

Once the cold front sweeps through temperatures will drop steadily through the morning and mid-day. Lingering clouds but a little drier Sunday with lows in the 40's. Highs will reach the upper 30s in the metro with warmer 40s likely south of the metro. Highs will approach the 70 degree mark on Wednesday, and then get well into the 70s by Thursday. Southerly winds will help boost temperatures to around 40° this afternoon.

The forecast remains unsettled even into next week, with an nearly Spring-like pattern.

Warmer air will move back in already Wednesday, squeezing out a few showers along the way.

Tonight, should remain dry with no chance of rain.
