Case Keenum To Sign With Denver Broncos

Former Broncos coach and current front office consultant Gary Kubiak coached Keenum when he was with the Texans.

However, with the Vikings one of the major contenders for Kirk Cousins' signature, Keenum has been looking to cash in on his status of last year's stellar campaign and the Broncos look to be his landing spot.

Keenum resurrected his career in Minnesota this past season, throwing for 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns to just 7 interceptions en route to leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game.

Broncos president of football operations/general manager John Elway had made finding a long-term solution at quarterback the priority of the offseason, after the Broncos limped to a 5-11 finish in 2017 with an offense that finished the season tied for 26th in scoring. We didn't play well there previous year.

After sitting out the playoffs in each of the last two years following their Super Bowl 50 triumph, the Broncos have apparently found their next signal-caller.

They have not had consecutive losing seasons since 1971 and 1972.

"I still think we're not too far away, " Elway said. However, that wasn't good enough for him to get drafted.

"There were some things we should have done differently that we didn't do".

ESPN reported Case Keenum plans to sign with the Broncos when free agency opens Wednesday. I feel like we can get right back in the thick of the things rather quickly.

With Keenum on board, the Broncos are expected to keep Paxton Lynch as their backup quarterback and possibly trade Trevor Siemian.

Keenum entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Houston in 2012, despite holding NCAA records for most passing yards, passing touchdowns, and 300-yard passing games, among others.
