Man Held for Molesting Vistara Air Hostess

A cabin crew of Vistara airline was allegedly sexually harassed by a 62-year-old man onboard United Kingdom 997 Lucknow-Delhi flight on Saturday.

A passenger has been arrested for allegedly molesting a cabin crew member of an Air Vistara Lucknow-Delhi flight, according to reports. The Delhi police held the Pune resident at the Indira Gandhi International airport (IGI) T-3 for bad behaviour and assaulting Vistara airline's air hostess. "Vistara does not tolerate abusive or unruly behaviour by passengers that puts safety of its staff & other customers at risk or compromises their dignity", the Air Vistara said in a statement.

On March 24, Vistara flight United Kingdom 997 departing Lucknow, in Central India, landed on New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The accused has been identified as Rajeev Vasant Dani who was arrested at the airport by the Delhi Police on the same day. The 17-year-old actress said she attempted to get the flight crew's attention when a man kept moving his foot up and down her back and neck.

Based on the complaint, the FIR was registered and probe is ongoing.

"The complainant told us that when passengers were de-boarding the flight at Delhi airport, as per her job, she was standing near the exit gate and guiding passengers when the accused touched her inappropriately".

Vistara also informed that it is "fully committed to providing cooperation to all the authorities" probing the case.

The airline spokesperson also said the complaint has been logged and "will wait for the investigation to conclude basis which we will decide for the next course for National Football League". However, the decision taken by one airline will not be binding on other carriers.
