In the story, a 16-year-old Nimue will encounter the young mercenary Arthur while on a quest to deliver an ancient sword to the wizard Merlin, catching up with her soon after the death of her mother.

"I have always been entranced by the mythological Arthur story-and by Nimue, in particular", said Miller of his forthcoming book in a recent statement. This tale represents an incredible opportunity and an exciting challenge for me as an illustrator, and I'm excited to collaborate on the story with Thomas Wheeler. According to Deadline, Nimue will eventually become a symbol of rebellion against the mysterious Red Paladins and their leader, King Uther. Wheeler is writing the Simon and Schuster young adult novel, which Miller will illustrate. Also, that the children's books that he inherited from his mother triggered this passion.

While I have had more than my fill of series/films based on the Arthurian legend, Miller's involved, and this new perspective, do have me a little bit intrigued. "This project is a dream come true".

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode first season of the series, with Wheeler and Miller set as co-creators and executive producers. "I can not think of a writer-artist who has had a more formative impact on my growth as a storyteller". "Together we hope to shake the foundations of this beloved mythology and in the process create a new hero for a new age".
