'The Flash' Star Candice Patton On Iris' New Powers & Costume

I call them the David Bowie shoes.

Her time comes following the arrival of a new meta with the ability to steal powers and its impact leads to Barry being rendered normal. When an episode like Subject 9 which from afar looked as disposable as could be turned out to be a victor, that was a good omen. So will Run, Iris, Run. If all Run, Iris, Run ended up being was a fun Candice Patton spotlight, I would have been fine with that. Any more guesses? Not even the actress herself knows.

A superhero Iris has finally arrived on The Flash. "There is gonna be a really cool fight sequence between the two of us". But Run, Iris, Run isn't really a standalone episode. "That's something I'll never have to do". We've got enough superheroes, and that's just not who Iris is. As revealed before, Kennedy confirmed that there is more to her character and she will come back at least "one more time". Sometimes you just have to let the chemistry of your leads do the work, and that's exactly what they did. As she sees it, Iris' true heroism is what she can accomplish without superpowers. They both have something to prove to themselves, even though they have the greater good at heart. Let's see where the show goes and how this new girl is linked to it.

There were lots of little touches, too.

Will Iris prove to be a worthy speedster? Grant, god bless him, he was giving me tips. I thought I heard it when she was working on the treadmill. "I mean, we still have to deal with that newspaper article in 2024 ... we've got to get there somehow". As Iris physically engages the enemies in battle, Barry will serve as the team's leader. But that's not just about calling the shots on a mission, it's about knowing when to lift up someone who's dragging. "She understands that Barry having speed is what gets him up in the morning and is what he's passionate about". I don't know if I could see Barry or Cisco or anyone else handling that situation in quite the same way.

"The Flash" viewers may have not seen the last of speedster Iris yet. It's her real superpower. Now, it seems like Iris is getting back to basics as she returns to writing.

According to The Hashtag Show, the CW Network announced the casting profiles of three new metahuman characters for "The Flash" TV series and they are Null, Crucifer, and Folded Man.
