Trump says there's no CHAOS in White House amid unprecedented staff upheaval

In a tweet Tuesday, Trump dispelled reports that there's "CHAOS" in the White House and claimed "people will always come and go".

Last week, White House Communications Director Hope Hicks announced her decision to leave the White House, as did Deputy Communications Director Josh Rafel.

"So many people have been leaving the White House", he said. As expected, Trump didn't hold back and took time to praise himself in the process.

As aides fought, Trump himself tweeted that "trade wars" would be "good" and "easy to win", further roiling markets already anxious about the impacts of tariffs.

Trump lashed out at the "fake news narrative" that his administration is more often than not embroiled in controversy following a week in which he offered often contradictory positions on major issues, argued in favor of a trade war and his West Wing staff turnover rate continued to climb.

Reports have said national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who has feuded with Trump over Russian meddling in the 2016 election, is on thin ice.

President Trump is on the defensive after a particularly eventful week in the White House.

Just five minutes later, the president mocked Democrats for not making any progress on providing a permanent fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the Obama-era executive order Trump rescinded in September that protected immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. While Trump's favorability did climb above 40 percent at the start of the year, it recently dropped below 40 percent in the latest round of polling, and it doesn't look to be improving anytime soon.
