Colon throwing flawless game vs. Astros through 7 innings

Colon signed a minor-league contract with Texas in February after finishing with a 7-14 record and 6.48 ERA between the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins a year ago.

Update (9:49 PM ET): Colon is ideal through seven innings. Still, Colon (44 years old) is the oldest pitcher to have a no-hitter in the eighth inning, according to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Not that it matters.

Bartolo Colon has lost his bid for a no-hitter against the World Series champion Houston Astros when Josh Reddick doubled with nobody out in the eighth inning.

The Rangers removed Colon after throwing 7.2 innings. He has struck out seven batters in the process.
