Central New York joins the growing list of Upstate regions that could get hit with sleet and freezing rain this weekend.

Just blame it on 'Murica.

Sleet and freezing rain will transition to snow by early Sunday, according to the NWS.

Light rain will change over to freezing rain Saturday evening before increasing in intensity overnight, Lincoln Park police said.

Periods of light freezing rain and sleet are expected across parts of central and western MA and ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch are possible.
