James Comey Is a Chelsea Boot Boy

Comey is promoting his new book to be released this week, Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership.

"A person who treats women like they're pieces of meat, who lies constantly about matters big and small and insists the American people believe it, that person's not fit to be president of the United States, on moral grounds", Comey added.

Detailed accounts of Comey's impressions on Trump and his presidency are articulated in his book, "A Higher Loyalty".

Trump fired Comey in May 2017 and said Sunday that he "never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty".

James Comey has accused Attorney General Jeff Sessions of shirking the responsibility of standing up to President Donald Trump to prevent him from trying to subvert the independence of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

For many Women's Marchers and other passionate Trump critics, there's a lot to relate to in the public emoting of former FBI Director James Comey.

He seized on an excerpt shown Saturday in which Comey said his belief that Clinton would beat Trump in the 2016 presidential election was probably a factor in his decision to disclose the investigation into her emails.

Following the ABC interview of Comey on Sunday night, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote on Twitter that Comey "has no credibility" and that Trump was right to fire him.

"I think it's possible".

When Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee previous year, he said that he did not know if Trump obstructed justice, adding, "that's Bob Mueller's job to sort that out".

Before his sacking by President Trump, Mr Comey said the thought he had affected the outcome made him "mildly nauseous".

On Sunday, Trump fired off several tweets slamming Comey before spending a few hours at his golf club in Northern Virginia. "But in many ways, I feel great pressure to stay to try and protect the institution I lead".

"I worry that the norms at the center of this country - we can fight as Americans about guns or taxes or immigration, and we always have", Comey said.

Comey told USA TODAY that he did not consult Mueller about the timing of the book's publication.

Despite Trump's attacks on Comey, whom the president fired, Comey doesn't consider himself someone dedicated to bringing the president down.

"And I have every confidence that Jim Comey accurately copied, collected, recounted what exactly went on during those discussions", former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said.

Comey's firing came as the Federal Bureau of Investigation was probing possible connections between Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and Russia's meddling in the U.S. election.

"I'd be a insane person to make it up", he continued. They should also listen to him when he says disliking the president and disagreeing with his voters does not a case for impeachment make. Comey: "It is stunning and I wish I wasn't saying it, but it's just - it's the truth". In addition to receiving a confused call from his wife Patrice, who had heard that he was sacked before hearing it from Comey directly, and then getting a call from a different friend, Comey says he also got a call from then-Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly, who now serves as Trump's chief of staff.

He said Sessions responded by not meeting his gaze, darting his eyes around, and letting Comey know he was on his own.
