Kerala: Newborn baby girl flushed down the toilet, plumbers stumble upon body

In a shocking incident, a two-day-old baby girl was flushed down the toilet at a clinic in Kerala. The incident occurred at the house of a doctor couple who run a clinic from there. When the plumbers tried unclogging the drain, something like a ball surfaced. The baby girl's body was stuck in the duct, placenta attached and all.

As per police, the parents of the newborn brought the girl to the clinic on the pretext of consultation and flushed the baby down in the down. However, as the placenta was intact, the mother could have delivered her inside the washroom.

The police also added that the matter is being investigated and the records of all the patients are being checked.

Dr Rehman lodged a complaint and a case of unnatural death was filed. The couple is reportedly absconding.

A policeman is reported to have said that the doctor couple's house was located on a large plot which other houses nearby and that it was just 100 metres from the road so they were investigating all possibilities.

The body was taken to a medical college in Thrissur where post-mortem was conducted, DNA reported.

"There wasn't much of a foul smell emanating from the toilet", a sub-inspector of the Nattukal Police Station told The NewsMinute.

According to the horrified servicemen, they were left traumatised after finding the baby girl's tiny head was the cause of the blockage. "Seeing the colour of the blood, the domestic worker mistook it for muddy water", the police said, according to The News Minute.
