Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer shows Classic Kingdom mini-games

A new trailer for the upcoming action RPG introduces players to the "Classic Kingdom", a series of minigames within Kingdom Hearts III inspired by the LCD handhelds of old.

While kingdoms in Kingdom Hearts are traditionally areas Sora and the gang physically travel to, the trailer implies that Classic Kingdom may just be a gaming handheld that Sora finds and spends time messing around with.

The games of course take inspiration from classic LCD games from the 80s, much like Game & Watch.

According to the details, it is expected that Kingdom Hearts III includes about 20 mini-games of this style, which will be ideal for you to relax after a long session of intense fighting. This is the second Pixar world to be included in Kingdom Hearts 3 so far, the first being Toy Story. Because this falls on a Thursday, it's a tad suspect, since that is not typically when publishers release titles.

Convention season is right around the corner, so we can expect to see a lot more of Kingdom Hearts 3 at these events. Despite this, there is still no exact date for its debut, but we know that it will arrive sometime this year.

Kingdom Hearts III releases in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
