LAPD Seizes $700000 In Feces Covered Counterfeit Makeup

Los Angeles Police said Saturday that some counterfeit cosmetics were contaminated with human waste. "Many of those good are not properly screened, tested or regulated, which in turn can jeopardize the safety of our citizens", said LAPD Capt. Marc Reina.

A Los Angeles Police Department task force seized $700,000 worth of counterfeit makeup from the city's fashion district Thursday night.

The agency had received several complaints from people who claimed their skin became irritated after using makeup bought in the area. Reina wrote. The bust netted makeup similar to such popular brands as Urban Decay, NARS, MAC, Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner, and others. The products look nearly identical to high-quality eyeshadow, lipstick, and mascara but, authorities say, their prices should have raised eyebrows.

The sh*t hit the fan when customers complained of skin irritation to the real cosmetic companies.

Researchers again found high levels of bacteria and feces in the cosmetics seized in Thursday's raid. The complaints prompted the Anti-Piracy Unit to conduct undercover buys to test the products.

KTLA-5 reported six people were arrested and its anticipated they'll face a charge of "trademark violations of major brands".
