SEGA AGES Brings Retro Classics To Nintendo Switch

SEGA AGES Brings Retro Classics To Nintendo Switch

Earlier today, SEGA promised to announce extremely important news at SEGA FES 2018 and delivered four impressive announcements out of which most of the announcements made were predictable.

Sega has announced Sega Ages for Switch.

The indications are that the rebooted classic console is going to go on sale this year, in Japan at least.

The Mega Drive Mini, which is scheduled for release this year, is simply a fun-size version of the classic 16-bit machine, which first launched in Japan in 1988, before being rolled out globally over the following two years. And finally The Museum Zone on the 2 Floor which is more of a celebration of SEGA console anniversaries (30th for Saturn and 20th for Dreamcast) and centers around the history of SEGA as a whole. Fans of the Switch don't need to worry, as SEGA chose to change that. But as long as Sega is willing to license out its platform instead of making its own hardware, it seems unlikely to get better than this, the most declarative console war victory imaginable.

What do you think? If the renowned video-game developer includes some of the best titles from their library with the micro-console, then it will nearly be a must-have item for gamers who miss the days of foiling Doctor Eggman or indulging in a few hours of Double Dragon. Would you like the arrival of a Sega Genesis Mini?
