It wasn't a bit back when Sony announced their latest Xperia XZ2 series that consist of the Xperia XZ2 and the Xperia XZ2 Compact. It is backed by a 3,540mAh non-removable battery and also supports QuickCharge 3.0 and Qi wireless charging.

The power button and volume rockers are present on the sides along with the dedicated camera shutter key that we have seen on nearly every Sony phone launched previously.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with Adreno 630 GPU. It measures 158x80x11.9mm and weighs 236 grams. Considering the XZ2 costs $799, expect to pay more for the Premium version, given its more impressive specs. It features High-Resolution Audio (LPCM, FLAC, ALAC, DSD), DSEE HX, LDAC, Clear Audio+, Stereo speakers with S-Force Front Surround, Stereo Recording, Qualcomm® aptX™ HD audio, Automatic Headphone Optimisation and more. It's IP65/IP68 water and dust resistant, too.

Sony does not have a price to quote but it says the Xperia XZ2 Premium will start selling this summer in Chrome Black and Chrome Silver options. The company has not talked about pricing but confirmed that the phone will be available globally from Summer 2018. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear and keep in mind that this smartphone does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. It follows the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact announced this past February.
