Two Palestinians killed in clashes on Gaza border

A 15-year-old boy and three other Palestinians on Friday were killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, becoming the latest victims of the Israeli military's violence against unarmed protesters during the fourth round of weekly protests.

Nabil Abu Rudeinah, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, said on Friday the leadership will approach the United Nations Security Council again to demand worldwide protection to the people of Palestine under Israeli occupation.

On Tuesday, one such kite started a fire in a grassy grove outside Kibbutz Be'eri, an Israeli community located some seven kilometers (4.3 miles) east of Gaza's Bureij refugee camp.

The US had halted its contributions to the United Nations agency as a way to urge Palestinians to negotiate with Israel.

Today is the fourth Friday in an ongoing series of clashes at the Gaza-Israel border fence.

It said several of the flaming kites had crossed into Israel and were extinguished, and forwarded photos of two kites, one painted with the Palestinian flag and one with a swastika.

A 15-year-old teenager and two men aged 24 and 25 were shot by Israeli army, according to sources from Gaza Strip to Agence France Presse.

Fridays have been by far the most active days, with over 40,000 people taking part in the first protest, almost 30,000 taking part in the second and approximately 10,000 participating in the third and most recent, according to the IDF's figures.

Israel has vowed to put an end to attacks and attempts to damage the border fence that stands there. Some demonstrators ran at the border fence and 16 were killed by Israeli troops with others injured, and some dying later.

Tens of thousands have gathered on previous Fridays as part of the protests near the border.

Israel says firebombs and explosive devices have also been used.

The protests are calling for Palestinian refugees to be allowed to return to their former lands now inside Israel.

On first day of demonstrations, in which around 30,000 people participated, 17 Palestinians died.

More than 700,000 Palestinians were expelled or fled during the 1948 war surrounding the creation of Israel.

Spokesman for the organizing committee of the protests, Ahmed Abu Retaima, told Xinhua that flying kites is an initiative of young people who wanted to show that the protests are peaceful but are met by violent Israeli reactions. However, the Jewish State says it is defending its border against terrorists.

Gazans pinned notes to some of the kites telling Israelis "there is no place for you in Palestine".
