Daredevils bat, Bhuvneshwar returns for Sunrisers

The chances of Delhi Daredevils in the tournament is in jeopardy as they battle the current chart-topper Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Prithvi Shaw and Iyer were the top scorers for Delhi with 65 (36) and 44 (36) respectively. In 20 overs, Rajasthan Royals scored 140 runs. He sends in a fuller length delivery which Pandey tries to hit out of the ground but only gets lots of height on it, the ball stays up for a long time and Shaw keeps his eyes on it as he went running back from extra cover to take a good catch. The Delhi Daredevils missed opportunities as they failed to make the most of their promising opening in batting and then released the pressure against their opponent SRH.

Mishra gave Delhi hopes and for 37 deliveries, SRH could not score a boundary before Manish Pandey struck two successive fours off Dan Christian in the 15th over.

Chasing 164 runs for victory, SRH openers Hales and Dhawan went after Daredevils bowling attack right from the word go. Glenn Maxwell dropped Alex Hales in the second over while Vijay Shankar failed to hold on to Pathan's catch when he had not scored a single run. The target was not big but hard for the local team.

Kane Williamson's unbeaten innings of 32 too merits a mention here for the way he controlled the run-chase; the SRH captain never looked uneasy at the crease and never pressed the panic button - despite the fast-climbing required run-rate, and despite not finding the boundaries. Parthiv Patel was the top scorer for his team, as he made 53 off 41 balls, which included five fours and two sixes.

Prior to Saturday, Prithvi Shaw was out to legspinners twice in 14 deliveries.

The Iyer-Shaw combo added 86 runs for the second wicket, and threatened to pile up a huge score.

Rashid was the most impressive bowler for Sunrisers as he put the brakes in the second half of the Delhi innings and in four over only given 23 runs to the rival and got two wickets. A tossed up ball with unplayable turn that stunned Hales and crashed on to his stumps as he kept staring in disbelief.

DROPPED! Yusuf the new man in tries to pull the 4 delivery, he doesn't get much on it as the ball sails towards Vijay Shankar at deep backward square leg, but Shankar can not hold on it. He was castled by the leg-spinner Amit Mishra in the eleventh over. Rashid was declared the Man of the Match for his efforts.

Naman Ojha was dismissed cheaply and Shaw would fall eventually, but not before scoring a well-played 65 runs. Inspite of absene of star bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, SRH pacers Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul and Basil Thampi have proved to be handy for the opposition. Bhuvneshwar finished with figures of 4-0-33-0. Amit Mishra brought experience to the fore and helped dry up the runs in the middle, with the wicket of both the openers.
