Political stars gather for Lalu's son's wedding

The wedding is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 12.

Lalu on Tuesday had applied before the jail authorities for temporary release on parole for five days from May 10 to May 14.

Chaos prevailed at the wedding of Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, as an unruly crowd breached the cordon separating the pandal meant for VIPs and the media and started looting food.

In presence were lots of VIPs and thousands of other guests, also for example Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who set aside their political differences and made it into the marriage.

Tej Pratap, 29, who served as Bihar's health minister for 20 months, tied the knot with Aishwarya Rai, the elder daughter of RJD legislator and former minister Chandrika Rai at the sprawling Patna Veterinary College grounds. Invitations have been extended to Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Vadra, Samajwadi Party leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav, Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh and Praful Patel Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha.

The marriage venue has been decorated with flowers from Thailand. Parsad, incarcerated at the jail in Jharkhand after his conviction in three fodder scam cases, was being treated at a Ranchi hospital for a host of ailments, including diabetes and kidney disease. Coincidently, Lalu's wife and former CM Rabri Devi was granted the leader of opposition status in the state legislative council on Saturday.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav who has been jailed in various cases related to fodder scam was granted six weeks provisional bail for medical treatment by the Jharkhand High Court on Friday (May 11).

In the video, which was shared by the former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Tejashwi, in a brown kurta, and the groom-to-be with a white gamchha wrapped around his head, are seen dancing to a peppy track.

Lalu, who has been convicted in three fodder scam cases by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ranchi since December past year, was undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute Medical Sciences (RIMS) here.

Aishwarya Rai is the granddaughter of former Bihar CM Daroga Prasad Rai.
