Ronda Rousey Scheduled For Major Match At WWE 'Money In The Bank'

While most of the WWE roster is now overseas ahead of RAW and SmackDown emanating from London this week, several WWE Superstars appeared in New York City today for the NBC Universal Upfronts.

As mentioned, Rousey's celebrity and crossover appeal are unparalleled in the current WWE women's division and arguably the entire company.

Ronda Rousey made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34, and it was recently reported that she will once again be wrestling on pay-per-view at Money in the Bank next month. Later in the same event, Rousey accepted the invitation, promising to provide stern opposition to the so-called Irresistible Force. There was some speculation that WWE would announce their new television deal as part of the festivities today, but that has not happened.

Tune in to WWE Money in the Bank on Sunday, June 17, streaming live on WWE Network. News on the red carpet.

It makes all the sense in the world to give Rousey a slow build by feuding with James, so that she can eventually get to the spot they want her to be in come next year - the main event of WrestleMania 35.

We're professionals, so when we get in there, there's a job to be done.

While both women being faces isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, it's hard to imagine WWE would book Rousey to lose her first singles match. "I happily oblige respectfully, so I can sit next to her". While you can question the timing and execution, the added eyeballs will get WWE the result it is looking for.

Other matches booked for Money in the Bank include yet another WWE Championship rematch between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura and the two titular ladder matches. "All bets are off, right?"

At first, I assumed this was just talking up to the media, but it is official!
