Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode Announced

Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode Announced

His rise to the top has taken place alongside the expansion of Fortnite: Battle Royale, which has quickly become a worldwide phenomenon following its release in 2017.

Fortnite publisher Epic Games says that player placements and performances 'will be specially tracked and determine rewards you receive at the end of the event'. The Solo Showdown will feature all the characteristics of any Solo game mode. While the rules will be same as in standard Solo mode, all matches will be scored, making this Fortnite's first attempt at ranked play.

Fortnite's latest limited time mode, Solo Showdown, doesn't actually change any of the battle royale shooter's rules, unlike all the other temporary modes we've seen. Upon the conclusion of each match, you'll earn a number of points based upon your final positioning. At the end of each game, players will receive a score: the victor gets 100 points, and it gradually decreases from there on: finishing 20th gets you 50 points, and the last 25 players (76-100) get 25 points.

When it comes to the scoring system, finishing first place within a match will award you 100 points while finishing 20th place within a match will award you 50 points. All of which consist of Fortnite's V-Bucks currency, though.

For the competitor to get 1st place, 50,000 V-Bucks awaits. The player who manages to secure first place will get 50,000 V-Bucks.

The best player will win 50,000 V-Bucks. The mode will end on Monday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m.

Even if you're not lucky enough to rank in the top 100 players of Fortnite's Solo Showdown mode, by simply playing 50 games, you'll get a unique spray, so there's always that.

Get ready to get sweaty as Fortnite gets a more competitive game type than ever before.
